Jennifer Clair Robson, Content Director at Climate Action North, has joined the Net Zero North East England board.

She joins the Partnership Board, which aims to shape a greener, fairer, and more sustainable region, after over 15 years of working in the sector.

Her background working on climate change includes leading on previous national policy-led work from 2006 to 2016 to deliver projects with communities across the region with partnership ClimateNE.

When the partnership was ‘mothballed’ following political and funding changes, she joined Sharon Lashley to restart climate initiatives and empower businesses and communities to make the necessary changes by setting up social enterprise Climate Action North in 2017.

Jennifer said: “I’m pleased to join the Zero North East England board on behalf of Climate Action North and support the vital work tackling the climate emergency. The board brings together representatives from businesses, communities, education, and political leadership and Climate Action North is well-placed to contribute to creating a cleaner, greener, and fairer region.”

Working across the North of England and the Scottish borders, award-winning social enterprise Climate Action North actively helps businesses and communities take practical action to halt the dual biodiversity and climate crisis.

Sharon, Climate Action North’s managing director, said: “No one can tackle this crisis alone and no one must be left behind and this is why we ensure there is something for everyone. We are particularly excited to champion nature-based solution initiatives that restore green and wild spaces bringing harmony between people and nature. Rewilding, for example, is a powerful way to tackle the dual nature and climate emergencies while creating social and economic benefits for people.”

Jen added: “It makes complete sense to support Net Zero North East England to enable the change and community engagement critical to accelerate Net Zero and I am honoured to take up the role as a Board Member. We all deserve a brighter future and, together, we can make a difference.”

The time for talking is over, today we need to act.
