An award-winning accountancy firm has joined the family of Climate Action North sponsors.

Valued, which help ambitious business owners realise their potential, has committed to supporting the social enterprise’s initiatives that mobilise climate action and business resilience throughout the North of England.

Stephen Paul, managing director at Valued, has been involved with Climate Action North since its inception in 2016 providing accountancy services.

He said: “We’ve seen the brilliant work that Climate Action North has done over the years to empower climate action, and their ongoing dedication to provide such a wide range of ways to help businesses and communities to do this is inspiring.

“We particularly value the positive impact connecting with nature offers for both people and places and it’s something we do regularly through regular walking and talking meetings. Now as a sponsor, we’re delighted to affirm our commitment to this important agenda.”

Climate Action North’s portfolio of work is chiefly funded by sponsorship from the business community, which is then reinvested into its climate action work.

Climate Action North’s managing director, Sharon Lashley, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Valued on board as a corporate sponsor. Their backing demonstrates their willingness to drive climate action and business resilience and go beyond ‘business as usual’ to solve these critical and ongoing issues.

“As well as supporting our portfolio of practical initiatives, their sponsorship will add value to our online Business Action Toolkit, which helps small businesses and social enterprises identify actions to start their net zero journey.”

Other climate action initiatives include: a climate action training academy offering a suite of CPD-accredited courses; Pollinator Parks®, which increases biodiversity and gives people a place to enjoy nature; Global Wilders® education activities focused on people, places, plants and animals to restore nature and conserve biodiversity; and North East Action 4 Rivers focusing on cleaning up rivers in the region.
