Climate Action North celebrated its sixth anniversary at a special event held at the Washington Wetland Centre. The event brought together over 40 climate supporters comprising volunteers, sponsors, and patreons.

A meadow of over 700 wildflowers has been created at the Darlington Denes play area to increase biodiversity, supply a haven for insects and birds, and give people a place to enjoy nature.

Companies of all types and sizes are being called upon to tackle their emissions and commit to net zero.

Taking action to become net zero will bring many benefits to a small business including improving resilience and competitiveness, while reducing costs and encouraging investment and attracting new customers.

Our Climate Action North vision is focused on “The time for talking is over, today we need to act” and we’re asking for as many people as possible to join us in mobilising climate action.

.Over 100 tree saplings will be planted at Dalton Park Outlet Shopping Centre as part of an ongoing partnership with not-for-profit company Climate Action North.

A networking event for small businesses to access practical support on achieving net zero took place on Tuesday 29 November 2022. Small businesses from all sectors wanting to learn more about net zero and how to achieve it, attended a morning event organised by social enterprise Climate Acton North.

The role bees, and other pollinators, play in the food chain is so important that, in the UK alone, their services are worth around £691 million a year in terms of the value of the crops they pollinate. It would cost the UK at least £1.8 billion a year to employ people to do the work of these pollinators.
