Blooming perfect sponsorship for climate action

Bloom Procurement Services has thrown its weight behind Climate Action North by becoming a corporate sponsor.

The company, which provides an open marketplace for contracts in the UK public sector, is supporting the community interest company’s initiatives that practically tackle the climate crisis.

Amabel Grant, Chief Executive at Bloom, said: “Climate action is a core pillar of our sustainability strategy, and we recognise the importance of making a full and lasting commitment to minimise the impact the business has on the natural world and build a better tomorrow.”

“Sustainability and social value are at the heart of everything we do and that’s why we’re so well-suited to join forces with Climate Action North and support their mission to empower individuals, communities and businesses to take decisive and meaningful climate action.”

Climate Action North’s portfolio of work is predominantly funded by sponsorship from the business community, which is then reinvested into climate action projects across the North of England.

Climate Action North’s managing director, Sharon Lashley, said: “As a sustainability-focused organisation, Bloom’s dedication to social value aligns with our mission to make a positive impact in the world and we are honoured to welcome them on board.

“We want as many people and businesses as possible taking action to halt and reverse the climate crisis. The backing of our sponsors is integral to seeing us deliver practical and genuine solutions for a greener, cleaner, nature-rich, and thriving world.”

The raft of initiatives supported by corporate sponsorship include: Pollinator Parks®, which increases biodiversity and gives people a place to enjoy nature; Global Wilders®, education activities focused on people, places, plants and animals to restore nature and conserve biodiversity; North East Action 4 Rivers focusing on cleaning up rivers in the region; an online Business Action Toolkit helping businesses identify actions to start their net zero journey; and a training academy offering a suite of CPD-accredited courses.

Climate Action North also arranges litter picks and beach cleans alongside regular online and face-to-face events and conferences.

This exciting sponsorship partnership kickstarted on Friday 17 March with a beach clean and marine conservation litter survey at a local beach.
