Climate Action North supercharges annual ‘Green June’ with a raft of events

Climate Action North works year-round to protect the environment, connect communities, and restore nature through rewilding.

Every June, it ramps up efforts with Green June, a month packed with events and activities to inspire and inform people on ways to take climate action.

For 2025, it’s returning with a supercharged line-up of events, building on the success of previous years and inspiring even more people to get involved.

26 June. Book Wilding online with John Miles
Join author John Miles for a special online session reading from his books Kitty the Toon: The World’s First Inland Seabird Colony and The Return of Kitty the Toon. This event is part of Climate Action North’s ongoing Book Wilding series, which has been running since 2022 to celebrate nature writing and showcase inspiring environmental authors. All sessions are delivered in partnership with Stockton-based bookseller Drake the Bookshop, with ticket proceeds donated to the author’s chosen charities.

Climate Action North’s CEO, Sharon Lashley, said: “Green June is a wonderful chance to discover simple, practical ways can help tackle the climate and nature crises.  These challenges are urgent, and it’s vital that everyone takes positive steps, whether through rewilding, cutting waste, or lowering carbon emissions, to make a real difference. These issues touch us all, and everyone can help.”
