The much-loved Festival of Thrift returned to the beautiful surroundings of Kirkleatham Museum and Grounds on 4 and 5 July 2026, bringing together thousands of visitors to celebrate sustainable living, creativity, and our connection with the natural world. An online screening of Clinging By A Claw has raised money to support vital conservation work aimed at protecting Scotland’s endangered wildcats, including sponsorship of a pair Margaret and Oscar.

Communities from across the North East of England will come together on 5 June for a special rewilding event at Ramside Hall Hotel. The day will celebrate nature and explore how restoring wild spaces can create a greener, wilder and more hopeful future.

Climate Action North has welcomed Valerie de Schaller as Wellbeing and Mindfulness Associate. In this role, Valerie leads wellbeing walks designed to help people connect with themselves and the natural world.

Climate Action North has announced new dates for its Rewilding Roadshow, designed to inspire and empower communities across the North of England to take action for nature right where they live. These stops are part of the ongoing effort to grow the North East Rewilding Network and support community-led rewilding initiatives.

Climate Action North is taking the North East Rewilding Network (NERN) on tour, thanks to fresh funding from Rewilding Britain.  This new support will help the network grow as it enters its second year, bringing rewilding inspiration directly to communities across the region. 

Climate Action North works year-round to protect the environment, connect communities, and restore nature through rewilding. Every June, it ramps up efforts with Green June, a month packed with events and activities to inspire and inform people on ways to take climate action. For 2025, it’s returning with a supercharged line-up of events, building on the success of previous years and inspiring even more people to get involved.

March 20th 2025 is World Rewilding Day and this year’s theme, Rewilding Together, celebrates the growing movement for nature’s recovery.
